Save Our Pastures is a Community-based campaign to protect the Pastures site from inappropriate development

Pastures is a community site located in Leytonstone, north east London which comprises of a Sports hall and large utility building (know as the Good Shepherd building) which has been providing many different facilities and services to the community for over 100 years. In early 2020 the site was earmarked by Waltham Forest Council for redevelopment into a large housing development. The local community rallied together and campagined to stop the redvelopment so as to ensure that the site was available for wider use and preserved for future generations to enjoy. After discussions with the council the redevelopment application was withdrawn and the initial threat of closure has subsided. However, in order that this unique site continues to exist it needs to be used. To this aim the Save Our Pastures campaign continues to work with Waltham Forest council, Charities, sports groups, arts collectives and wider community groups to ensure that the site remains available to all.

Pastures is open now with many activites for all ages. Please see the ‘Whats On’ and ‘Booking info’ pages from the menu as regards to both activites and how to potentially book Pastures for your own activity.
